Description
Bring one-of-a-kind Mori designs into your kitchen and make uniquely shaped cookies with Kaumtua-inspired Kuki Reka Kani, loosely translated as cookie cutters.
Matariki is the Mori name for the Pleiades star cluster. According to Mori mythology, Matariki is the mother surrounded by her six daughters. However, there are nine stars in the cluster that represent different aspects of the natural world and are associated with various deities and guardians.
Matariki and her daughters travel across the sky yearly to visit Papatnuku, the Earth Mother. This journey signals it is time to celebrate the Mori New Year, a time to honour the past, celebrate the present, and plan for the future.
The Matariki Star cookie cutter colour is a deep purple to reflect the beauty of the night sky at this time.
